OVERLAND PARK, Kan. –  The No. 9-ranked Johnson County women's soccer team posted its eighth shutout of the season to improve to 9-2-1 overall with a 6-nil win at Central Community College in Columbus, Nebraska Wednesday afternoon.

Sophomore midfielder Sydney Hammett (Lee's Summit, Mo.) scored two goals, including the game winner, freshman forward Maya Wallace (Shawnee, Kan.) recorded a goal, and two assists and sophomore midfielder Alandra Bailey (Topeka, Kan.) had a goal and assist to help power the Cavaliers to the victory. 

Johnson County netted four goals in the first 12 minutes into the match to have the victory wrapped up.

Hammett got the scoring going in the fourth minute off a feed from Wallace. Bailey scored three minutes later with an assist from sophomore midfielder Willoughby Lam (Lawrence, Kan.). Wallace picked up her second assist in the 10^th minute feeding freshman forward Jenna Knight (Edwardsville, Kan.) for the goal and in the 12^th minute Wallce and Knight hooked up again, with Wallace getting the goal off the feed from Knight. 

Hammett netted her second goal of the match in the 72^nd minute with the assist from Bailey and freshman defender Montana Rose-Curry (Woongarrah, NSW, Australia) closed out the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 80^th minute, her first of the season. 

Freshman goalkeeper Frankie Williams (Manchester, England) earned the shutout, her fourth of the season. She stands 4-1-1 overall with a goals against average of .0.67, second best among KJCCC D-II goalkeepers. 

Johnson County will hit the pitch again this Saturday when they travel to Chanute to take on Neosho County.  The Panthers recorded 1-1 tie against JCCC in the first meeting on September 6.
