Butler Volleyball sweeps Garden City, picks up 3rd KJCCC win

EL DORADO, Kan. – Butler volleyball managed a 3-0 straight set sweep over conference rivals Garden City on Saturday afternoon at the Power Plant.

The Grizzlies (9-6, 3-2 KJCCC) won their second straight conference match to move above .500, 3-2, in KJCCC action.

Freshman outside hitter Sarah Sullivan (Henderson, NV) paced the Grizzlies with 11 kills on .409 hitting. Sophomore outside hitter Maria Eduarda Motta (Foz do Iguaco, Brazil) added 10 kills of her. Freshman setter Anja Milosevic (Belgrade, Serbia) had a double-double with 33 assists and 10 digs and freshman defensive specialist Laynee Brown had a team-high 20 digs.

Butler dominated the first set, winning 25-13 and hitting a match-high .481 with 15 kills on 27 attacks. They outhit the Broncbusters in each set.

Butler returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 20 as Barton travels to the Power Plant for a conference matchup at 6 p.m.
