The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team (8-2) took down the University of Saint Mary JV (0-1) 19-3 Feb. 27 in Kansas City, Kan.

Derek Olsen had his first plate appearances on the season and had a team-high for both hits (3) and RBIs (4). Jase Woita had a double and went 1 for 4, but knocked in three Blue Devils. Gehrig Goldbeck continues his hot stretch and went 2 for 3 while scoring three runs. He leads the Blue Devils in batting average with a .433 average. Bryson Vawter went 2 for 4 and hit three RBIs. In his one appearance at the plate, Frankie Santiago hit a three-run home run, the only Blue Devil to do so on the super windy Tuesday. As a team, they totaled 15 hits, 10 walks and defensively had three errors.

For pitching, Carson Rosen took the win and threw for two innings and let up one hit, one run and tallied two strikeouts. Nathaniel Uglialoro, Jorge Sanchez and Bryson Vawter threw an inning each and finished the game for the Blue Devils, letting up only one hit and two strikeouts.

The next game for the Blue Devils is against No. 1 ranked Heartland Community College at 12 p.m. Mar. 1 in Millington, Tenn.
