On Friday, after nearly waiting 2 weeks the Red Devil Baseball team finally got to take the field in Neosho, Missouri, playing the host Crowder College and Ellsworth Community College.
Taking the ball in Game 1 was Sophomore Conner Bond. Bond went 3 innings surrendering 3 runs on 4 hits. Bond walked 3 while striking 3. Getting the win was Jacob Davenport. Davenport went 2 innings, giving up 1 run and walking 2. Nate Postlethwait picked up the save having a perfect 7th inning.
Pacing the offense was Brayden Whitchurch. Whitchurch was 3 for 3 with 2 singles and a double. Also having a perfect day at the plate in game 1 was Nathan Vetter. Vetter was 2 for 2. Justus Burke hit a solo homerun.
In Game 2 the Red Devils handed the ball to Sophomore Drew Young. Young picked up the win going 4 innings, while walking 3 and striking out 2. Picking up the save was Ben Beutel. Beutel went 3 innings striking out 5 and not giving up a run.
Leading the offense was Lukas Rich. Rich was 3 for 3 with a 3-run homerun. Also having a hit and an RBI was Lee Musgraves.
The Red Devils return to action Saturday with a Double Header against Ellsworth CC at Crowder College.
