No. 18 Blue Devils Slide by State Fair, 6-4

The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team (31-5) took down State Fair Community College (19-21) 6-4 Apr. 9 in Sedalia, Mo. The Blue Devils got back to their winning ways with Tuesday's win. The Blue Devil bats were hot in the fourth inning as Levi Martin, John Caime and Gehrig Goldbeck all scored to make it a three-run inning.

Caime showed his offensive prowess going 2-3 at the plate scoring two runs and tallying two RBI. Feddie Nolen IV also went 2-3, got walked twice and scored one run. Peyton Basler had a solid day going 2-5 with one RBI and a double. The other double in the game came from Martin who went 1-2 and got walked two times. Tanner Pachorek went for a perfect 1-1 at the plate knocking in a run. Jackson Mervosh had one RBI from his one hit on the day as well.

There were four Blue Devil pitchers on the day. Gavin Killion started the game going 3.1 innings letting in one run from three hits and four walks. He also struck out two batters. Will Bartkoski recorded the win going 3.1 innings letting in two runs, one earned, three hits and one walk while striking out two batters. Weston Fries and Carson Rosen finish the game adding up to just two hits, one run, two walks and three strikeouts. As a team, they let up eight hits, walked seven batters and struck out seven Roadrunners.

The next game for the Blue Devils is against Colby Community College at 3 p.m. Apr. 12 at the KCKCC baseball field.
