Blue Devils Destroy Highland, 11-1 and 15-1

The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team (13-2) took down Highland Community College (11-11) 11-1 and 15-1 Mar. 9 in Kansas City, Kan.

In the first game, Gehrig Goldbeck emerged as a standout performer for the team, leading the offensive charge with two hits and scoring three runs. His ability to get on base consistently and create scoring opportunities proved invaluable for the Blue Devils success. Jase Woita delivered a clutch performance at the plate, driving in two runs while also scoring two runs himself. Brady Patterson and Tanner Pachorek each contributed to the scoring effort with one RBI apiece, showcasing their ability to drive in runs and produce offensively. Brady Kern also made his presence felt driving in one RBI.

For pitching, Maclane Finley threw all five innings before the game got called, and he only let up four hits, one run and two walks while recording five strikeouts.

For the second game, Peyton Basler led the charge for the team, delivering an outstanding performance with two hits and driving in two runs. His ability to get on base and produce runs played a crucial role in the team's offensive explosion. Gehrig Goldbeck also made significant contributions, demonstrating his power at the plate with one hit and he drove in three runs. Jackson Mervosh and Jase Woita showcased their hitting abilities, each contributing two hits and driving in a combined total of five runs. Brady Kern made his presence felt driving in three runs while also scoring two runs. Frankie Santiago got walked all three of his at-bats and recorded three runs.

Mason Davenport threw five innings for the Blue Devils and let up just one run off two hits. Davenport also recorded an impressive eight strikeouts. Will Bartkoski came in and threw for the remaining two innings while giving up just one hit and one strikeout.
