No. 17 Blue Devils Destroy Allen in Series, 14-1 and 11-3

The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team (21-3) took down Allen Community College (15-14) 14-1 and 11-3 Mar. 21 in Iola, Kan. Jase Woita shined bright in this series and hit the ball over the fence three times.

In the first game, Gehrig Goldbeck tallied two hits in two at-bats, scoring one run and driving in one run while also drawing one walk. Peyton Basler recorded two hits in two at-bats, scoring two runs and got walked twice. Jackson Mervosh contributed with two hits in four at-bats, scoring two runs, and Jase Woita had an outstanding game, securing three hits in four at-bats, scoring three runs and driving in an impressive six runs. He also hit two home runs against two different Red Devil pitchers. Brady Patterson added one hit in three at-bats, scoring two runs and driving in one run with one walk. Marcus Dierks also contributed with one hit in three at-bats, scoring two runs. Freddie Nolen IV managed two hits in four at-bats, scoring one run, and both Tanner Pachorek and Brady Kern had a hit and two RBIs a piece.

Maclane Finley once again had an impressive outing on the mound while pitching the entire game and letting up one run from two hits and one walk. Finley recorded six strikeouts and now has a record of 7-1 on the season.

For the second game, Goldbeck managed three hits in five at-bats, driving in two runs. Woita stood out with a stellar performance, tallying three hits and three runs scored in five at-bats, along with one RBI. Brady Patterson contributed with one hit and one run scored in five at-bats, and Marcus Dierks showcased his batting prowess with two hits and two runs scored, including one RBI. Frankie Santiago had a standout performance, securing three hits, including a grand total of five RBIs, and two runs scored. Pachorek managed one hit in five at-bats, while Kern contributed significantly with three hits and two RBIs in four at-bats.

The Blue Devils had four pitchers throw in the second game. Bryson Vawter recorded the win with three innings of work and gave up just one run off one hit and two walks. He also struck out four Red Devils. Davenport, Will Bartkoski and Caleb Reed were the other pitchers adding up to only three hits, three runs, seven walks and eight strikeouts.
