Not only did Kansas City Kansas Community College's women's soccer team post their biggest win of the season, they did it in dramatic come-from-behind fashion.

Trailing 2-0 at halftime at No. 10 Cowley County Wednesday, the 17th ranked Blue Devils scored three second half goals for a vital 3-2 Jayhawk Conference upset.

The win pulled the Blue Devils into a three-way tie for second with Cowley and No. 12 Butler County at 4-1-2, just a half-game back of league-leading and No. 8 ranked Hutchinson (4-0-3). Overall, the Blue Devils are 6-2-1 heading into a 1 p.m. neutral site clash Sept. 23 with Garden City at the Stryker soccer complex in Wichita.

The Blue Devils needed less than 20 minutes to rally at Cowley. Sophomore forward Mia Hurt of Omaha started the comeback just three minutes into the second half, scoring on an assist from freshman Jaycee Schumann of Topeka Seaman, and then assisted Staley sophomore Jordan Bedard on a game-tying goal at the 55:23 mark. The game-winner came at 67:43, Bedard scoring on an assist from Hurt.

"A great combination between Mia Hurt and Jordan Bedard for the winning goal," said KCKCC Coach Shawn Uhlenhake. "Mia had a great half with two goals and the game-winning assist. It was great to get a road win and look forward to Saturday to see if we can keep the momentum going."

Once ahead, the KCKCC defense took it the rest of way, allowing the Tigers just four second half shots and just two on goal, both turned away by freshman goalkeeper Maria Heuman of Liberty North. The Blue Devils, meanwhile, were launching 23 shots including 11 on goal.
