Grizzlies Win 4th Straight With Takedown of NOC-Enid, Conference Play Begins Tuesday

EL DORADO, Kan. – The 14th-ranked Butler Grizzlies defeated the NOC-Enid Jets 93-57 at the Power Plant on Saturday afternoon in their final non-conference game of the season.

The win was the Grizzlies (5-1) fourth straight win as well as fourth straight home game. The Jets moved to 2-5 on the season with the loss.

Five Grizzlies scored double-figures with sophomore guard AJ Williams leading the way as he totaled 19 points and five assists, shooting 3-5 from deep. Sophomore guard Deuce Drake did a little of everything as he had 16 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Sophomore forward Jamichael Stillwell had 11 points and 11 rebounds, his fourth double-double of the young season. Sophomore guard Kaleb Washington led the Grizzlies with six assists, also pouring in 13 points.

Butler shot 45% (9-20) from three, their second highest output of the season.

The game was back-and-forth in the early going. NOC-Enid took a 12-10 lead with 9:21 to go in the first half before Grizzly guard Khalil Arnold made a layup to tie the game. The Grizzlies then took a 14-12 lead off a Christian Richardson dunk and never looked back, holding a lead throughout the rest of the game. The Grizzlies largest lead was 40, and they ultimately won by 36.

Butler begins KJCCC play on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Northwest Kansas Technical in Goodland, Kansas, at 8:30 p.m.
