No. 15 Blue Devils Take Down Baker JV, 20-11

The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team (39-6) defeated the Baker University JV team 20-11 Apr. 22 at the KCKCC Baseball Field. The Blue Devils are currently on a 10-game winning streak and are set to take on Fort Scott this Wednesday (away) and Saturday (home).

Blue Devils scored 19 of their 20 runs in the first four innings against Baker. Levi Martin led the team with two home runs and five RBI. The other home run came from Jackson Mervosh, who ended the day with two hits and four RBI. Both Peyton Basler and Gehrig Goldbeck had two hits and a double. Austin Burroughs and John Caime had to singles while Caime drove in two runs. Freddie Molev IV had two RBI and now has eight RBI in his past four games.

It was a bullpen day for the pitching staff as Charlie Mosser (1-0) recorded the win going one inning, striking out one batter and letting in one run. Weston Fries struck out five batters in his two innings of work but let up four hits and three earned runs.

The next series for the Blue Devils is against Fort Scott Community College at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Apr. 24 at Lions Field in Fort Scott, Kan.
