Women's Basketball Falls To No. 3 JCCC In Low Scoring Affair

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – A fast start in the first quarter for the KCKCC women's basketball team was erased by Johnson County Wednesday night, as the Blue Devils fell 54-42 on the road.

The Blue Devils record now stands at 15-9 overall and 4-4 in the KJCCC.

KCKCC got out to a 14-8 start in the first quarter but struggled in the second. JCCC outscored the Blue Devils 15-4 to lead 23-18 at the break. Victoria Jones and Jada Johnson scored to start the third and tied the game at 23-23. Both teams chipped away, but the offensive struggles continued for both teams in the low-scoring affair. The Blue Devils fell behind by eight points with 5:34 left in the game and were unable to make a run down the stretch.

Johnson and Jones each scored 10 points for the team. Jones also led the squad with eight rebounds.

KCKCC will return to the KCKCC Fieldhouse on Saturday when they take on No. 6 Labette at 1 p.m.
