Red Ravens Women's Basketball Battle Hard Against #20 Seward Saints But Fall Just Short 71-74

The Red Raven Women's Basketball team traveled to Liberal Kansas to compete against the #20 NJCAA ranked and undefeated Seward Saints.  In a seesaw game the Red Ravens fought hard and probably played their best game of the season, but fell just short in the end losing 71-74.

The loss moves the Red Ravens overall record to 5-5 including 4-3 in KJCCC conference play.

The Red Ravens shot the ball well going 27-65 (41%) overall and an eye popping 13-26 (50%) from the three point arc.  However, the Saints shot just as well going 29-63 (46%) and going 10-29 (35%) from three.

Coffeyville was right with the Saints throughout the game.  The Red Ravens and the Saints tied in each of the quarters except the third where the Saints outscored the Ravens 12-9.  That ended up being the difference in the game.

Freshmen forward Lucy Burke was big for the Red Ravens scoring 16 points on 4/8 three point shooting.  Sophomore guard Alanie Fisher had a good night scoring 9 points and hitting the boards for an outstanding 15 rebounds.

Other contributors for the Red Ravens included sophomore guard Desiree Nelson (15 pts), sophomore guard Patriece Dodson (12 pts) and sophomore forward/center Antionette Daniels (11 pts).

The Red Ravens stay on the the road with their next game coming in Chanute Kansas against Neosho County.  The game is scheduled for Wednesday December 7th at 5:30 pm.
