BROWN HAS EIGHT POINTS OFF BENCH IN HAWKS DEFEAT TO T-BIRDS
CONCORDIA, Kan. – The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team loaded up on the bus and took a road trip for the first time this season as they battled NJCAA DI Cloud County Community College Saturday in Concordia, Kansas. The Hawks were handed their first loss of the season by the T-Birds by a final score of 71-51.

The Hawks were handed their first loss of the season by the T-Birds by a final score of 71-51.
Northeast (2-1) faced strong opposition all afternoon as Cloud County entered the contest 3-0 on the year. Vincent Garrett (Lincoln, Neb.) led the way for the Hawks in points with 10 while Luke Brown (Hobart, Australia) added eight off the bench. Brown led what was a strong-bench unit again for the Hawks as Northeast was able to tally 24 points from the reserves in the showdown. Northeast will now have four days of rest and fine-tuning before their next matchup on their home floor.

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on his team falling for the first time this season tonight:
"It was the first road game of the season and it showed," Clark said. "Our young talent learning to play in a tough environment will give us experience down the stretch. Cloud County is a good, experienced team. We knew what we were getting walking into their place."
Clark on what the focus will be in practice before Thursday's matchup:
"We're spending a majority of our time working on rebounding and getting touches inside," Clark said. "We win games from the inside out and we settled for outside shots tonight."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will be back at home and will clash with Morningside University JV at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
