Blue Devils Take Down North Central Texas, 8-3

The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team (4-2) defeated North Central Texas College (2-12) 16-6 Feb. 18 in Gainesville, Texas. The Blue Devils had not hit a home run in Texas until Sunday, when Jackson Mervosh sent it over the fence against the Lions.

Peyton Basler went 1 for 3 at the plate, recorded a triple and got walked. Brady Kern was the other Blue Devil who had a triple, and he went 1 for 3 with two RBI's. Jase Woita also tallied two clutch RBIs for the Blue Devils. Both Gehrig Goldbeck and Brady Patterson got walked twice and Goldbeck scored three times. Aaron Lewis pitched four innings and let up four hits, one earned run, three walks and had four strikeouts. Donovan Johnson finished the game with three innings, letting up one hit, two earned runs, two walks and two strikeouts.

The next game for the Blue Devils is against Barton Community College Bears at 3 p.m. Feb. 23 in Kansas City, Kan.
