NCMC softball earned a two game sweep on the road Saturday over Neosho County Community College. Sunday's games were cancelled due to weather. The wins move the team's record to 6-0 this season.
Offense has been strong for the Lady Pirates. To open the games, NCMC posted a 12-1 victory which saw Taylor Richman and Jaele Barber each hit home runs. Richman went 3-4 in the game with 4 RBIs.
The second game was closer but the Lady Pirates offense again prevailed. In the 9-6 win, NCMC pounded out 11 hits to Neosho's 7. Sidney Lynch homered while Salem Croy went 2-4 with 3 RBIs from the leadoff spot.
As a team, NCMC is batting a stellar .456 to start the year.
Next up will be the start of Region XVI play when the team travels to Crowder College for a doubleheader on Sunday, March 8th.
