No. 11 Blue Devils Mercy Rule MCC, 15-5

The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team (28-3) crushed Metropolitan Community College (15-23) 15-5 Apr. 2 at the KCKCC baseball field. Tuesday's win marks the 12th double digit win for the Blue Devils. They remain at the top of the KJCCC East Conference with a record of 15-1 in league play.

Jackson Mervosh emerged as the game's leader going 4-5 at the plate with four RBIs and one run. Gehrig Goldbeck keeps his hot streak at the plate going 2-3 with three RBIs, one run and one walk. Another Blue Devil who made a significant impact was the right fielder, Tanner Pachorek, who went 2-3, scored three runs and tallied one RBI. Frankie Santiago played behind the dish and recorded two hits, two runs and two RBIs. Both times that Jase Woita got on base, he ended up scoring. He went 1-1 at the plate with a walk. Offensively, the Blue Devils added up to 16 hits, eight walks and just two strikeouts in the seven-inning game.

There were five Blue Devil pitchers who gave up a total five runs from five hits and five walks. Will Bartkoski recorded the win throwing one inning and not letting up a single hit but walking one batter.

The next series for the Blue Devils is against Cowley Community College at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Apr. 4 at Tiger Ball Park in Ark City Kan.
