Baseball Tops NOC-Enid on the Road

Enid, Okla. – Butler baseball traveled to Enid for a midweek tilt with the NOC-Enid Jets and came away with a 7-4 win at David Allen Ballpark.

A four spot for the Grizzlies (5-2) in the third inning ultimately helped them overtake the Jets (8-4).

Jeremy Bingesser (W, 1-0) picked up the win on the mound in a pre-determined bullpen game for Butler as they used six pitchers. Bingesser threw 3.0 innings allowing one run on three hits.

Freshman reliever Jack Haag picked up his second save of the young season, throwing a scoreless ninth after taking over for Kage Ralstin who allowed a run after walking two.

A Jordan Hedrick RBI single to right center in the third got Butler's scoring started, tying the game 1-1. Anibal Rivera walked in the next at bat to put two runners on. Justin Hudson then came to the plate and smashed his second home run of the season putting Butler ahead 4-1. They never trailed again.

Garrett Fager scored two runs, Hedrick finished with two hits and Rivera walked three times. Hudson totaled four RBI, walking twice. Max Meuil had two hits and two walks in his season debut.

The Grizzlies open a three-game series in Wilburton, Okla., on Thursday at Eastern Oklahoma State.
