Blaize Burgess shot lights out Saturday on her way to a new school record at Highland Community College knocking down 10 three-pointers in Day Two of the HCC Scottie Classic.

The Scotties, led by the hot shooting hand of Burgess, defeated Graceland University JV 138-21 to improve to 8-0.

The game was decided in the first quarter as Highland held the Yellow Jackets to only four-points while scoring 36 of their own. That trend continued throughout the game holding Graceland so single digits in each of the four quarters.

Seven Scotties scored in double figures in the big win including 68 points from the bench players. Burgess led the way with 32-points going 10-16 from behind the arc.
Niccolly Ramalho,
Mariane De Caravalho and
Maria Alcantara all finished with 16-points apiece.
Berniezha Tidwell chalked up 12-points while
Tamia Victor and
Mackaila Palmore each finished with 10.

Highland forced 44 Yellow Jacket turnovers and scored 82 of their 138 points off of turnovers. They out-rebounded Graceland 50-24 and finished with 22 steals.

Highland is now 8-0 on the season and will travel to Ironwood, Michigan this Saturday and Sunday to play in a tournament. They will play Gogebic Community College Saturday at 5:00pm and Bay College Sunday at 10:00am
