Blue Devils Falls to North Central Missouri, 78-69

The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team (3-2) received its second loss of the season to the North Central Missouri Pirates (5-1) 78-69 Nov. 11 at Hy-Vee Arena. BJ Stewart and Caleb Jones led the way with 12 points apiece.

The Pirates led by three at halftime and didn't let the Blue Devils get any closer for the remainder of the game. Despite the Pirates 24 turnovers, the Blue Devils could only convert on 29 of their 76 field goal attempts (38.2 percent) while going 3-27 from behind the arc. That is a season low of 11.1 percent.

Mikequese Taylor came off the bench and added 10 points and two rebounds, but fouled out in only 19 minutes on the court. Cortez Howlett also came off the bench and tallied 10 points, three rebounds and two steals.

The Pirates were led by freshman guard Giovanni Mack's 20 points, eight assists and five rebounds. Mack would also lead the team in turnovers (10).

The Blue Devils are set to face the Ottawa JV at 8 p.m. Nov. 14 at Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley.
