RedTails Women Soccer Open Season On The Road

RedTail Women's Soccer had two games this weekend in Kansas, ending with one tie and one loss.

The RedTails had an even matchup against the Neosho County Panthers on Saturday, August 26. The game ended up being a tie (0-0), but the team used it as a growth and learning experience. The RedTails had a few shots on the goal, against this tough competition and worked together as a team in the hot temperatures.

The following day on Sunday, August 27 the RedTails traveled to Overland Park, KS., to face the Johnson County Cavaliers in a tough match. The RedTails were putting up a good fight but the Cavaliers ended up scoring three in the first period, taking the win (3-0).

Head coach Chris Rennie had some positive words to say after the weekend.

"This is a new and growing team, we have learned a lot during preseason about ourselves and the direction we want to go," he said. "I was so proud of the players and the passion and fight they showed to push through." Rennie also said, "This team is starting to gel and we are beginning to see a real potential in this group of players."

The RedTails next match is Wednesday, August 30, at North Iowa Area Community College at 1:00pm.
