Blue Devils Take Down Southeast with Ease, 83-67

The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team (9-5) took down the Southeast Bobcats (7-8) 83-67 Dec. 9 at Southeast Community College. BJ Stewart ending the night with a season-high 24 points, and Caleb Jones records his second double double of the season.

On top of Stewarts 24 points, he tallied three rebounds, one steal and one block. Jones ended with 16 points, 12 rebounds and a team-high four steals. Pierce Ross came off the bench and provided the Blue Devils with 11 points and three rebounds. Cortez Howlett started his first game for the Blue Devils and ended with eight points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal.

The Bobcats were led by Justin Bolis who ended the night with 20 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. The only other Bobcat that finished in double figures was Carson Brown who had 18 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Brown also led the team with six turnovers. Carson Leslie was the only player to come off the bench and score, with six points.

For the game, the Blue Devils shot 32.4 percent from the field (24-74), 33.3 percent from three-point range (7-21) and 73.7 percent from the free-throw line (28-38). The Bobcats shot 37.9 percent from the field (22-58), 12.5 percent from three-point range (3-24) and 64.5 percent from the free-throw line (20-31).

The next game for the Blue Devils is against Arkansas State Mid-South at 5 p.m. Dec. 15 at National Park College.
