Highland Women Roll Past Bethany JV For Tenth Win

The #2 Highland women's basketball team rolled to their tenth win of the season on Monday night as they topped Bethany College JV 81-29 to improve to 10-0 on the season. 

With the game sitting at just 6-4 at the 3:50 mark of the first quarter the Scotties put together a 18-5 run to finish the first quarter and lead 24-9 as Highland took advantage of 10 first quarter turnovers by the Swedes. The Highland lead and the Bethany turnovers continued to each grow in the second quarter pushing the Scotties to a sizable 51-17 lead at intermission as Bethany had 21 turnovers in the first half. 

The second half wasn't much different as the Scotties continued to stymie the Swedes in the match outscoring them 14-3 in the third quarter and 16-9 in the fourth to secure the 81-29 win. 
Defensively the Scotties forced 37 Bethany JV turnovers and held the Swedes to just 23.7% shooting from the floor, 1-15 from three-point range, while the Scotties made of three times as many field goals as Bethany JV on the night and shot 45% from the floor. Scotties racked up 25 steals in the win. 

For the ninth time this season Highland had at lead three players in double figures and for the third straight game Stefania Chiziane scored 20+ points posting 22 points on 8-12 shooting and notched a double-double with 10 rebounds, while adding two assists and three steals. Chiziane's 22 points was her fifth 20+ point showing of the season. 

Tuana Dinc and Janiya Davis continued to be top contributors for the Scotties as Dinc tallied 16 points with six rebounds and Davis finished with 15 points and seven steals. Khaliah Hines chipped in nine points and five rebounds.
