Blue Devils Sneak Past State Fair, 76-72

The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team (5-2) took down the State Fair Roadrunners (3-5) 76-72 at State Fair in Sedalia, Mo. Mikequese Taylor dropped a career high 26 points while shooting 10-14 from the field.

The Roadrunners were up 43-32 at halftime and led by as many as 12 at one point. The persevering Blue Devils came back in the second half, but the Roadrunners wouldn't go away. There was a total of four lead changes and six ties throughout the game.

This is the second consecutive game where Mikequese Taylor led the Blue Devils in points. The freshman guard now averages 11.6 points per game with 4.9 rebounds and 55.6 percent shooting from the field.

For the game, the Blue Devils shot 49.1 percent from the field (26-53), 25 percent from three-point range (3-12) and 80.8 percent from the free-throw line (21-26). The Roadrunners shot 40.3 percent from the field (27-67), 21.2 percent from three-point range (7-33) and 61.1 percent from the free throw line (11-18).

The Blue Devils are set to face the Indian Hill Warriors at 7 p.m. Nov. 21 in Ottumwa, Ia.
