No. 11 Hutchinson remained unbeaten Saturday, holding off numerous Kansas City Kansas Community College challenges to escape with a 1-1 tie.

Only twice in the final 10 minutes were the Blue Dragons able to invade KCKCC territory in the final 10 minutes of a defensive battle played almost entirely in Hutch's defensive zone. KCKCC allowed only three shots, all on goal, while the Blue Devils peppered the Blue Dragon defense with 16 shots, five on goal.

It was the second tie of the season for the No. 18 ranked Blue Devils (5-1-2), and the third for Hutchinson (7-0-3). The Blue Devils, who are 3-1-1 in Jayhawk Conference play, are right back in league action Wednesday against No. 14 Cowley County in Arkansas City. Kickoff is at 5 p.m.

Hutchinson broke a scoreless tie 13 minutes into the second half on an unassisted goal by Jayda Wyatt, but the Blue Devils tied it 10 minutes later when sophomore Jordan Bedard scored on an assist from freshman Cora Ellermann. Sophomore Karli Angle had two saves in goal for KCKCC while Karsyn Slothower had five for Hutchinson.
