Lady Blue Devils Crush Central Community College-Columbus, 82-47

The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team (10-5) took down the Central Community College-Columbus (2-16) 82-47 Dec. 16 at North Platte Community College for the North Platte Classic. Jada Johnson went 12-19 from the field and ended the night with 27 points.

The victory marks the fifth consecutive win for KCKCC. Victoria Jones tallied 16 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals during the game. Alexis Dukes came off the bench and scored 10 points with eight rebounds and three assists. Sarah Khamis and Ti'Ye Davis both had six points and combined for six rebounds and four assists. Kaylyn Rogers had six points and three rebounds.

The Raiders had two players in double figures - Aubry Saleapaga (15) and Desiray Diaz (14). Makenna Pelster had a team-high five assists while putting up six points. Sylvia Valentino came off the bench and scored five points before fouling out after 15 minutes of play. The Raiders allowed KCKCC 22 offensive rebounds and turned the ball over 10 times.

For the game, the Blue Devils shot 44 percent from the field (33-75), 39.1 percent from three-point range (9-23) and 58.3 percent from the free-throw line (7-12). The Raiders shot 36.8 percent from the field (21-57), 15.4 percent from three-point range (2-13) and 33.3 percent from the free-throw line (3-9).

The next game for the Lady Blue Devils is against the Bethany College Bison at 1 p.m. Jan. 6 at Rockhurst University.
