They tacked on three more in the second with a 2-RBI double from Sam Moran and an RBI double from Sydney Anderson that scored Moran, Highland led it 5-0.

Raegen Hamm controlled the game through the first four innings not allowing a run. The Monarchs managed to scratch out two runs in the fifth inning but were shut down in the sixth and seventh as Hamm got win number 16 on the season.

A Kelly Uthe RBI in the bottom of the fifth would give Highland their sixth and final run of the game as the Scotties got the win 6-2 in a quick, 1 hour 10-minute game.

Maple Woods scored one run in the second but the Highland offense answered scoring three in the bottom of the second. RBI's from Moran and Sara Shinn gave Highland the 5-1 lead after two innings of play.

It seemed as if Highland was going to run away with the game taking an 8-2 lead after the fourth but the Monarchs had other plans.

Maple Woods scored one in the fifth and went off in the sixth inning scoring four to cut the Highland lead to just one, 8-7 going into the bottom of the fifth.
