Reivers Head Back to the Championship Final

WICHITA, Kan. - Iowa Western Women's Soccer is headed back to the national title game for the second year in a row.

The Reivers (17-0-0) defeated the tournament 11-seed Cowley (13-5-4) 1-0.  IWCC struck early in the first half when sophomore Forward Marta Llopis crossed a ball into the box and it deflected off the diving hands of Cowley Goalkeeper Kanon Dehama and sophomore Forward Nicole Navarro Aguilar tracked it down, spun around, and tucked it off of the near post and in for the games only goal.

Iowa Western's defense held the Cowley attack at bay in the first 45 minutes, not allowing a single shot; while the Reivers took 12 of their own but couldn't add to the lead.  Iowa Western had mulitiple chances to put the game firmly away in the final 20 minutes but Marta Llopis' shot with a one-on-one with Goalkeeper Dehama was saved and Oruha Hayashi's breakaway was called back for offsides.

Sophomore Goalkeeper Bella Washington earned her third clean sheet of the tournament, saving all five shots on goal in a windy second half.
