Blue Devils Fall in Thriller Against Arkansas State Mid-South, 82-80

The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team (9-6) fell to the Arkansas State Mid-South Greyhounds (7-7) 82-80 Dec. 15 at National Park College. Cortez Howlett and Reginald Morris both ended the night with 18 points apiece.

Morris and Howlett combined shot 14-23 from the field and 6-11 from behind the arc. Caleb Jones came up just shy of a double-double with 13 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two steals. Jaylon Moses came off the bench and put up 12 points with six rebounds. O'shawn Jones-Winslow had five points and brought down eight rebounds.

The Greyhounds were led by Jesse Washington and Je'Marion Westbrook who both ended the night with 23 points. Darren Wallace tallied 11 points, four rebounds, two assists and three steals. Markese Bolden came off the bench and shot a perfect 3-3 from behind the arc and ended with nine points.

For the game, the Blue Devils shot 42.5 percent from the field (31-73), 45.5 percent from three-point range (10-22) and 54.5 percent from the free-throw line (6-11). The Greyhounds shot 38.1 percent from the field (24-63), 41.2 percent from three-point range (14-34) and 90.9 percent from the free-throw line (20-22).
