Howlett and Morris Lead Blue Devils to 90-77 Win Over Bobcats

The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team (2-0) defeated the Southeast Bobcats (1-1) 90-77 on Nov. 4 at Rockhurst University. The Blue Devils offense was led by sophomores Cortez Howlett (22 points) and Reginald Morris (21 points).

This is the first time in five years that the Blue Devils have started the season 2-0. The last time was the 2018-2019 season, which did not end how the Blue Devils wanted (14-17, 4-6). However, that was before current head coach Brandon Burgette, came to KCKCC.

The Blue Devils held the Bobcats to just 25 points in the first half and managed to score 34 in the second half. Bobcat freshman, Justin Bolis led the team with points and also had a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Two other Blue Devils finished the game in double figures including sophomores Jaylon Moses (11 points) and Dewayne Robinson (10 points).

The Blue Devils (2-0) are scheduled to face the Ellsworth Panthers (2-0) at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at Dittmer Gym in Iowa Falls, Iowa.
