Johnson Leads Blue Devils to Win Over Haskell JV, 65-38

The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team (5-4) took down the Haskell Fighting Indians Varsity Reserve (1-9) 64-38 Thursday night at Haskell University. Jada Johnson recorded her second highest scoring performance of the season with 30 points while having seven rebounds, three steals and one assist.

Symiah Bradley ended the night with eight points, seven rebounds and three steals. Alexis Dukes brought down a team-high 12 rebounds and had eight points and one steal. Claire Suchma came off the bench and scored her season best six points with four rebounds and an assist. Victoria Jones led the team with six assists and got two steals.

The Fighting Indians only had one player in double figures, Jayla Flient (10). Flient also had eight boards, three blocks and shot 5-12 from the field. Sheenah White and Heidi Thomas both had six points each and combined for 10 rebounds and eight turnovers.

For the game, the Blue Devils shot 38.6 percent from the field (27-70), 10 percent from three-point range (2-20) and 47.4 percent from the free-throw line (9-19). The Fighting Indians shot 25 percent from the field (14-56), 18.8 percent from three-point range (3-16) and 77.8 percent from the free-throw line (7-9). The Blue Devils scored 44 points in the paint and had a lead of 29 at one point.

The next game for the Blue Devils is against the North Central Missouri Pirates at 1p.m. Dec. 2 at Rockhurst University.
