Blue Devils Fall to National Park, 96-64

The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team (9-7) fell short to the National Park College Nighthawks (13-0) 96-64 Dec. 16 at National Park College. NPC had five players finish with double figures and out rebounded the Blue Devils 44 to 26.

Caleb Jones led the way with 15 points and had five rebounds with one assist. That makes it seven consecutive games that Jones has finished in double figures. Camron Williford came off the bench and provided 11 points, four assists and brought down one rebound. Reginald Morris ended with eight points, one rebound and one assist. Mikequese Taylor had nine points and two rebounds.

The Nighthawks were led by Ja'Bryant Hill who had 18 points, four assists, two rebounds and one steal. Nakavieon White recorded a 15 point and 11 rebound double double while also tallying eight assists. Siddiq Canty led the team in bench points with 14 and he also brought down two rebounds.

For the game, the Blue Devils shot 32.9 percent from the field (23-70), 32 percent from three-point range (8-25) and 66.7 percent from the free-throw line (10-15). The Nighthawks shot 56.7 percent from the field (34-60), 31.8 percent from three-point range (7-22) and 95.5 percent from the free-throw line (21-22).

The next game for the Blue Devils is against Neosho at 3 p.m. Jan. 13 at Neosho County Community College.
