Hamm throws no-hitter; Scotties sweep Panthers
 
 
Highland took care of Neosho County sweeping the Panthers Tuesday afternoon increasing their win streak to 17 straight games.
 
The Scotties improved to 25-6 (16-4) after they swept the Panthers winning game one 14-5 in 6-innings and game two 12-0 in 5-innings.
 
Alexis Hodapp started things off with a grandslam in the first inning of game one. That was followed up by a Sara Shinn solo homerun in the 3rd inning and Highland took a 5-1 lead over Neosho.
 
Aubry Hernandez recorded her 100th hit as a Scottie after she hit a 2-RBI single adding to the Highland lead in the 4th. (Hernandez hit her 100th RBI last week vs Hutchinson) Hodapp knocked in another run in the same inning scoring Anderson and giving Highland an 8-1 lead. Neosho had an answer in the 5th inning scoring three runs with the help of a 2-run homerun by Kinsley Stewart.
 
A Kendra Baldridge RBI single in the 5th and two runs walked in gave Highland the 11-4 advantage going into the 5th.
 
Sydney Anderson hit a career milestone with a 3-run walk-off homerun in the 6th inning winning the game by run-rule and recording her 100th career hit as a Scottie. Highland took game one 14-5.
 
Julisa Ortega recorded the win for Highland allowing five runs off five hits. She struck out six and walked three. Ortega has now surpassed the 150 mark for career strikeouts with 153 in her career.
 
Not only did the Scotties run-rule the Panthers 12-0 in 5-innings, but game two had multiple headlines attached to it.
 
Freshman pitcher Raegan Hamm recorded her first no-hitter of her college career shutting down the Panther offense on the way to her 13th win of the season.
 
Another story line featured sophomore Sydney Anderson as she hit in her 100th RBI of her career and crossed the plate for the 100th time now with 100 runs scored in her career. Anderson also continued her hitting streak stretching it to 15 games in a rwo with a hit.
 
Aubry Hernandez went 2-3 with two homeruns in the game and had six RBI's. Sam Moran, Sydney Anderson, Kami Zimmerman, Mayah Daniels, McKinley Jeanneret and Cassidy Greer each had an RBI in the contest.
 
Eleven players had an at bat in game two and all 11 recorded a hit in the 12-0 victory.
 
Raegan Hamm pitched 5 innings allowing no runs off no hits. She struck out seven and walked two in her 18 batters faced. Hamm is a perfect 13-0 on the season in the circle.
 
 
The Scotties improved to 25-6 overall and 16-4 in KJCCC play. They will take on Benedictine College in a non-conference matchup Thursday at 2:30 & 4:30pm at home. The Scotties next conference matchup will come against Fort Scott on Tuesday, April 17 in Highland at 2:00pm & 4:00pm.
