Blue Devils Crush Saint Mary, 89-56

The Kansas City Kansas Community College women's basketball team (4-2) forced 29 turnovers on Tuesday night as they took down the Saint Mary Spires (0-2) 86-56 at Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley. Victoria Jones went 9-11 from the field and ended the night leading the Blue Devils in points (21), assists (7) and steals (4).

After the first quarter, the Blue Devils didn't let the Spires within 10 points for the remainder of the game. Spires forward Marta Beougher led the team with 23 points while turning the ball over 10 times.

Forward Jailynn Schmaltz came off the bench for the Blue Devils and added 18 points with six rebounds and shot 4-4 from the free throw line.

For the game, the Blue Devils shot 62.7 percent from the field (37-59), 25 percent from three-point range (2-8) and 81.3 percent from the free-throw line (13-16). The Blue Devils also outrebounded the Spires, 34-27.

The Blue Devils are set to face the Haskell JV at 6 p.m. Nov. 17 at Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley.
