Lady Tiger soccer team picks up 2-0 road win

The No. 18-ranked Cowley College women's soccer team improved its record to 2-0 in the Jayhawk Conference with a 2-0 win over first-year soccer program Seward County Wednesday in Liberal, KS.

Both the Lady Tiger goals came in the first half, with Nanaka Inaba scoring the opening goal on an assist by Berta Borrell. Cowley would get a second goal by Lea Evin, assisted by Lucia Rivas.

The goal for Inaba was her second of the season, while Evin's goal was her first.

Cowley head coach Roberto dos Santos was happy to get the road win.

"The way the conference is set up now, winning games on the road is always important," dos Santos said.

Seward is still looking for its first goal in program history as they fell to 0-3 in the conference.

Cowley will now prepare to host Dodge City on Wednesday, September 6 at 5 p.m. The Conquistadors are 1-3 overall and 0-3 in the conference.

"We will have a few days to recover and prepare for Dodge City, which will be another important match," dos Santos said.
