On Wednesday, the Lady Mavs opened up the second half of KJCCC play, putting up a good fight with Dodge City. The Lady Mavs had eight hits in game one against the Conquistadors, three of which came from leadoff hitter Lauryn Reyes. Mikaela Renteria and Valadean Jones were able to pick up a stolen base each, while Lillian Martinez picked up two hits and Cheylene Valed-Asato had a sac fly, all helping the Lady Mavs string together four runs in their five-four loss. In game two, the Lady Mavs were not able to score as many runs as the sole hit came from Mariya Tecumseh, giving herself two more RBIs on the season.
The Lady Mavericks are back in action on Saturday in Goodland against Butler County.
