No. 18 Blue Devils Take Both against Neosho, 1-0 and 10-0

The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team (36-6) took both games against Neosho County Community College (28-17) 1-0 and 10-0 Apr. 19 at the KCKCC baseball field. It was a solid performance from the Blue Devils defense as they didn't allow a single run in either game, striking out 14 batters.

In the first game, Gehrig Goldbeck, Brady Patterson, Levi Martin and Brady Kern all recorded singles. The only double from the Blue Devils came from first baseman, Frankie Santiago, his fifth on the season. The lone RBI came from Marcus Dierks who scored Goldbeck in the fourth inning with a sac-bunt.

Maclane Finley went the distance letting up just three hits. He struck out eight Panther batters and is currently tied for first in the nation with most wins at 10.

For the second game, the offense boomed as Patterson, Santiago and Freddie Nolen IV all had multi-hit games. Both Nolen and Peyton Basler had doubles and added two RBI. Patterson had his second game of the year where he had two doubles. Goldbeck had a sac fly and recorded one RBI while Dierks had one hit which scored one run.

Mason Davenport (4-1) recorded the win, going five innings and letting up just two hits. He walked four batters but struck out five. Bryson Vawter came in for the remaining two innings and let up just one hit, one walk and one strikeout.
