Scotties had an answer in the bottom of the fourth taking advantage of two more walks and a hit batter, scoring a run on a passed ball and then an RBI infield single by Alyssa Wesley to make it 5-3. That lead held until the top of the seventh when Johnson County plated a run to tie the game at 5-5 but the Scotties made sure it was only one run. In the bottom of the seventh after the first out Hannah Schmidt hit a double to get on base and then Kami Zimmerman pinch hit and notched a single to put the winning run at third for Highland. The third inning would be where things blew up for the Scotties as Johnson County plated 13 runs on 11 hits with three home runs in the inning to take control of the game. Scotties got a solo home run by Chevelle Sartin in the bottom of the third, but Johnson County tacked on two in the fourth and six more in the fifth to capture the win over Highland 22-2 in five innings.
