Brickhouse’s Career Game Leads No. 8 Butler to Road Win

PRATT, Kan. – Butler women's basketball remains undefeated on the road this season as they defeated the Pratt Beavers 93-72 at the Beaver Dome on Saturday afternoon.

The No. 8 ranked Grizzlies (14-2, 8-2 KJCCC) bounced back after losing just their second game of the season at home to Indy on Wednesday. Pratt is now 2-8 in league play, 7-8 overall. Butler did not trail in the game.

Sophomore forward Brittanie Brickhouse turned in a herculean effort for Butler, posting a career-high 24 points and 17 rebounds, shooting 11-17 from the field and pulling down seven offensive rebounds alone that helped the Grizzlies with second chance points. They had 23 second chance points to Pratt's 12.

Butler shot just 1-11 from distance, but 48.6% from the field. The Grizzlies knocked down 80% (20-25) of their free throws, the best mark of the season. The 93 points scored tied their second highest output of the season, also scoring 93 in a home win over Seward on Nov. 26.

The Grizzlies outscored Pratt in every quarter but the second in which Pratt outscored Butler 22-21. Butler went into halftime leading 39-34. The Grizzlies took off in the fourth quarter, outscoring Pratt 29-19 to ultimately claim the 21 point victory.

Freddie Wallace put up 21 points and nine rebounds, Colvin added 14 points and three steals and Tiana Winn tallied 10 points and seven rebounds.

Butler returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 17th, at the Power Plant as Cloud County travels to El Dorado for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
