Game 1: Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity Pitches Well, But Can't Find Enough Runs In Loss To Butler Community College Grizzlies Varsity

Both teams were strong on the rubber on Saturday, but Butler Community College Grizzlies Varsity was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity on Saturday. Jade Guzman started the game for Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity and recorded 15 outs.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity lost despite out-hitting Butler Community College Grizzlies Varsity nine to six.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity got on the board in the second inning. Haley Butler hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run.

Olivia DePew led the Butler Community College Grizzlies Varsity to victory in the pitcher's circle. She lasted seven innings, allowing nine hits and two runs while striking out four.

Kaila Eastburn took the loss for Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity. She lasted two innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out two.

Guzman started the game for Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity. She allowed three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity collected nine hits on the day.  Stonie Carrillo and Kyla Snow all collected multiple hits for Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity.  Carrillo led Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity with three hits in three at bats.  Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Jaleigh Durst had the most chances in the field with five.

Butler Community College Grizzlies Varsity totaled six hits.  Delainey Fenoglio and Taliya Talley all managed multiple hits for Butler Community College Grizzlies Varsity. Butler Community College Grizzlies Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Benning had the most chances in the field with six.

 

Game 2: Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over Butler Community College Grizzlies Varsity

An early lead helped Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity defeat Butler Community College Grizzlies Varsity 10-4 on Saturday.  Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity scored on a triple by Alexis Hoang and a single by Haley Butler in the second inning.

After Butler Community College Grizzlies Varsity scored two runs in the top of the sixth, Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity answered with two of their own. Butler Community College Grizzlies Varsity scored when Asia Henry homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity tallied five runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught came from a single by Trinity Castillo, a home run by Hoang, and a double by Pal Egan.

Laynie Bastow was the winning pitcher for Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity. She surrendered four runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out two and walking one.

Knox took the loss for Butler Community College Grizzlies Varsity. She went three and a third innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits, striking out three and walking one.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity tallied two home runs on the day. Eganhad a four bagger in the third inning. Hoang put one out in the fourth inning.

Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity tallied 12 hits in the game.  Egan, Castillo, Peyton Picou, and Hoang all collected multiple hits for Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity.  Egan went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Vernon College Softball Chaparral Softball Varsity in hits.

Butler Community College Grizzlies Varsity tallied eight hits on the day.  Delainey Fenoglio, Eadler, and Henry each managed multiple hits for Butler Community College Grizzlies Varsity.
