With A Strong Second Half, The Red Ravens Put Away the Beavers 91-82

The Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Men's Basketball team defeated the Pratt Beavers in a home game in Nellis Hall 91-82.

The win extended out Coffeyville's record to 8-2 overall and 4-2 in KJCCC conference play.

The KJCCC last place Pratt Beavers almost snuck up on the Red Ravens.  Behind 48% shooting, the Beavers were able to gain and maintain a lead over the Red Ravens for most of the game.  The Beavers held a 43-37 lead over the Red Ravens at halftime.

However, a strong second half and specifically the last 10 minutes of the game proved to be the difference in the game for the Red Ravens.  The Red Ravens outscored the Beavers 54-39 in the second half and the cold shooting that had plagued the Red Ravens through the first 30 minutes of the game seemed to disappear in the last 10 minutes with the Red Ravens making a couple three pointers down the stretch to help put the game away.  On the game the Red Ravens shot 31-75 (41%) overall which included 3-16 (18%) from the three point line.

Leaders for the Red Ravens include sophomore Cedric Roland who produced a double double off of 21 points and 10 rebounds.  Four other Ravens were in double figures including sophomore forward Tedrick Wolfe with 17 points, freshmen guards Travis Washington (14 points & 7 assists) and Malik Keith (12 points 7 5 assists) along with sophomore forward Jordan Taylor with 10 points.

Next up for Coffeyville is a road game in Liberal Kansas against Seward County Community College on Saturday, December 3rd.  Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00p.
