Blue Devils Get Strong Team Win Over Allen, 85-68

The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team (12-8, 3-1) took down the Allen Community College Red Devils (8-12, 0-4), 85-68 Jan. 24 at Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley. The Blue Devils crashed the boards and had 20 offensive rebounds, which led to 27 second chance points.

Caleb Jones got his fifth double double of the season with 10 points and 13 rebounds. He also had a season-high seven steals with one assist. Reginald Morris went 6-6 from the free-throw line and had 11 points with four rebounds, one assist and one steal. O'shawn Jones-Winslow brought a strong presence off the bench and led the team in points (13) while bringing down eight rebounds. Mikequese Taylor finished the night with 12 points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals. Mason Jones also came off the bench and shot 3-6 from the field, 1-1 from three and went a perfect 4-4 from the free-throw line. He would finish with 11 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal. Both Jaylon Moses and Camron Williford were one-point shy of double figures. They combined for nine rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block.

The Red Devils were led by Randy Crosby who finished with 20 points, eight rebounds, four steals and two assists. Killian Spellman had 15 points, six rebounds, four steals and two blocks. The only other Red Devil who finished in double figures was EJ Lewis who later fouled out with 10 points, one rebounds and one steal. David Teele came off the bench and tallied nine points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.

For the game, the Blue Devils shot 40 percent from the field (30-75), 11.8 percent from three-point range (2-17) and 88.5 percent from the free-throw line (23-26). The Red Devils shot 35.7 percent from the field (20-56), 15.8 percent from three-point range (3-19) and 75.8 percent from the free-throw line (25-33). The Blue Devils smashed the Red Devils in points in the paint, 50 to 28 and outrebounded them 53 to 34.

The next game for the Blue Devils is against the Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds at 4 p.m. Jan. 27 in Fort Scott, Kan.
