Blue Devils Win Three Straight in Conference Play with Win Over Fort Scott, 84-63

The Kansas City Kansas Community College men's basketball team (13-8, 4-1) took down the Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds (14-7, 2-3), 84-63 Jan. 27 in Fort Scott, Kan. The Blue Devils showcased a collective team effort with standout contributions from various players.

Camron Williford contributed 14 points, making an impressive five out of six field goals. He also had three rebounds and three assists. Caleb Jones demonstrated his versatility with 16 points and an outstanding 13 rebounds during his 34 minutes on the court. That makes it his sixth double double of the season. Dewayne Robinson, although on the court for only 15 minutes, played a crucial role, adding two points and three rebounds. Jaylon Moses shot an accurate 4-5 from the field, accumulating 14 points, and grabbing five rebounds in his 27 minutes of play. Reginald Morris displayed his three-point shooting prowess, contributing 17 points and making five out of 11 attempts from beyond the arc. Mikequese Tayloe led the bench with eight points, four rebounds and two steals.

Denymh Smith led the Greyhounds with 18 points and contributed four rebounds in 24 minutes of time on the court. Derrick McDonald recorded a double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 4-7 from the field. The Greyhound bench outscored the starters 40 to 23, and the team's leading scorer on the season, Andre Norris, was held to just seven points with four steals, four rebounds and two assists.

After the win, the Blue Devils are now tied with JCCC for the top of the KJCCC standings with conference records of 4-1. For the game, the Blue Devils shot 48.2 percent from the field (27-56), 40 percent from three-point range (8-20) and 78.6 percent from the free-throw line (22-29). The Greyhounds shot 32.4 percent from the field (22-68), 17.4 percent from three-point range (4-23) and 68.2 percent from the free-throw line (15-22). 

The next game for the Blue Devils is against the Labette Community College Cardinals at 8 p.m. Jan. 31 at Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley.
