The Bears fall to Johnson County in Final Four

Despite entering the tournament as the No. 1 seed, the defending national champions, the Phoenix College Bears, faced a tough journey in the final four. Their pool play showcased a dominant 4-0 victory over CCBC Essex, but the real test came in an intense matchup against Southwestern Illinois. The game extended into two overtimes and penalty kicks, with Renata Manrique's decisive goal propelling the Bears into the final four for the third consecutive year.

In a hard-fought semifinal against Johnson County, the Bears fell short, unable to find the net before time ran out. Freshman Chloe Corral's performance earned her a spot on the all-tournament team. Wrapping up the season with a commendable 15-2-3 overall record, the Bears can take pride in their achievements and the mark they've left on yet another impressive campaign. Congratulations to the team on a stellar season.
