Blue Devils Take Down MCC with Ease, 15-6

The Kansas City Kansas Community College baseball team (11-2) took down MCC-Penn Valley (12-9) 15-6 at home Mar. 5. With the win, the Blue Devils have now won eight consecutive games.

The Blue Devils were led by standout performances from Jackson Mervosh and Jase Woita. Mervosh went 2-for-6 with two runs and four RBIs, while Woita contributed two hits, including a home run, and drove in four runs. Gehrig Goldbeck and Peyton Basler set the tone at the top of the lineup, combining for three runs and three RBIs. Meanwhile, Brady Patterson and Tanner Pachorek provided additional offensive firepower, driving in a total of four runs between them.

Gavin Killion started on the mound for KCKCC, pitching two innings and allowing three hits while striking out two batters. Carson Rosen followed with a one-inning appearance, giving up two hits and two earned runs. Dalton Smith pitched two innings, allowing three hits and one earned run while recording one strikeout. Nathaniel Uglialoro and Charlie Mosser each pitched two innings, with Uglialoro giving up two hits and Mosser yielding three hits and three earned runs. Bryson Vawter closed out the game with a scoreless inning, striking out two batters but issued three walks.

The next series for the Blue Devils is against the Highland Scotties at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Mar. 9 in Kansas City, Kan.
