Allen started her sophomore year with a bang this
weekend, hitting .412 and slugging .882 in four Seward
County wins. She had at least one extra base hit
in all four games and drove in runs in three of four.
Friday in game one against Tonakwa she had a key double
and an RBI in a 3-2 Seward win. In game two of the
twinbill she was 3 for 4, finishing just a home run shy
of hitting for the cycle as Seward snuck out another
close 5-4 win. Saturday against Grayson she was 2
for 4 with 4 RBI’s including a grand slam in a 10 run
5th inning for the Lady Saints to spur them to a 13-10
win. In the final game of the weekend she had
another double and an RBI as Seward cruised to a 13-5
win over Rose State.

Laura Wilson had a dominating week on the mound for the
Independence Lady Pirate Softball team. She struck out
30 batters in 18 1/3 innings pitched and allowed only
three earned runs as she went 3-0 on the week.

Seward County lefthander Katelyn Craker was 2-0 this
weekend for the Lady Saints, picking up wins against
Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa and Grayson County in Seward’s
first two dates of the 2014 season. Against
Tonkawa Friday she went the distance in a 3-2 Seward
win, striking out 8 and allowing just 3 hits and 1
earned run to earn the victory. Saturday she
struck out a career high 9 in just 4 innings of work
against Grayson County to pick up her second win of the
weekend.

Helping her team go 5-0 on the week, Tori Hawk went
8-for-16 with three home runs and seven RBIs. Hawk went
2-for-2 with two home runs and four RBIs in a 14-2 win
over Western Oklahoma State. She added six runs scored,
three walks and two stolen bases to her stellar week.
