Orr was on fire for the Lady Saints last week, picking
up hits in all six Seward games and hitting .632 in the
process. Monday against McCook she was 3 for 4 with a
pair of doubles in a double header. Wednesday against
Garden City she finished 6 for 9 with 5 runs scored and
3 RBI’s as Seward took both games from the Lady
Busters. On Friday she finished the week strong, going
3 for 6 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI’s as Seward swept a
double header from Barton.

The freshman shortstop from The Colony, Texas had a week
to remember as she belted eight home runs in six games.
Hawk batted .500 (11-for-22) and drove in 16 runs to go
along with her eight round-trippers. She also scored 12

Sydnee Eck shut down a pair of national powerhouse
programs this weekend at the Carthage Bash in Joplin,
Mo. as the No. 3-ranked Butler softball team went 3-0
and ran its winning streak to 10 games. In 13 innings of
work in the circle, Eck struck out 14 batters, allowing
just two runs on seven hits without allowing a walk. She
nearly had a shutout against NEO, allowing a solo home
run with two outs in the seventh before finishing off
the win by retiring the next batter. For the season, Eck
is 10-3, with a 0.92 ERA and 78 strikeouts in just 68.1
innings of work.

Coming within two outs of throwing her fourth complete
game of the week, Leslie Ford helped Kansas City win
three of her four starts. Ford, a freshman from Garden
City, struck out 27 batters and walked only two in 27
1/3 innings pitched. She allowed only two earned runs in
her four starts and struck out 12 in a 3-2 win over
Coffeyville.
