Butler sophomore Javier Pena hit safely in all four games this week against Garden City (.429) with a double, a home run and seven RBI. He also scored four runs, walked once and had a pair of putouts.
Sophomore Dylan Nedved picked up a save and complete-game victory and helped the Blue Dragons to a share of the 2019 Jayhawk West championship last week. Nedved pitched 2-3 inning in a 6-3 Hutchinson victory at Cloud County to earn his second save of the season. Nedved then tossed his first complete game of the season, scattering five hits over seven innings and allowing one unearned run while striking out 10 in a 3-1 Blue Dragon victory that clinched its share of the Jayhawk West crown. Nedved helped his own cause with a solo home run in the late innings to give the Blue Dragons a two-run lead.
