KJCCC Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, Wk. 2

Cloud County sophomore catcher Griffin Larsen helped the T-Birds to a 3-1 overall record last week, making the start in three of four games while going six-for-10 at the plate with two doubles, one triple, one home, three walks, and two hit-by-pitches. The Overland Park, Kansas native had a 1.300 slugging percentage while driving in five runs and scoring six times and had a .733 on-base percentage. Behind the plate as catcher in three of the games, Larsen would record 23 putouts and three assists. 

Johnson County sophomore right-hander Paul Rector pitched five innings of hitless relief to help the Cavaliers to a 6-5 victory over Ellsworth last Sunday. Rector, who earned the victory, did not allow a hit or a run and struck out eight of the 18 batters he faced.
