KJCCC Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, Wk. 3

Johnson County sophomore infielder Brady Slavens batted .470 (8-for-17) with a double, a triple, five home runs, nine runs scored and 12 driven in over in six victories last week for the No. 13-ranked Cavaliers.  For the season, Slavens is hitting .444 and 10 of his 16 hits have gone for extra bases.

Izack Tiger, freshman right-handed pitcher from Del City, OK, pitched a no-hitter on Saturday in the Grizzlies 10-0 (5-inning) win over Des Moines Area CC. Tiger ha a perfect game going up until the top of the fifth when he walked his first batter. Tiger threw 59 pitches in the win allowing no runs, off no hits, with a walk and four strikeouts. He faced 16 batters and 43 of his 59 pitches were strikes. Tiger is now 1-1 on the season.
