KJCCC West Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, Week 2

KJCCC West Player of the Week: Will Edmunson – Hutchinson Community College
Sophomore outfielder Will Edmunson had a memorable 2023 Opening Day, going for 8 to lead the Blue Dragons to a pair of victories over Southeast Community College. Edmunson was 2 for 3 with a two-run home run in Game 1. He then went 5 for 5 with two runs and three stolen bases in a come-from-behind 10-7 victory in Game 2. Edmunson is the first Blue Dragon to have a five-hit game since 2020. 

KJCCC West Co-Pitcher of the Week: Brian Hallum – Dodge City Community College
Dodge City baseball took on a tough New Mexico Junior College team in a four-game series in Hobbs, New Mexico. In the series finale Brian Hallum came entered the game in relief and provided the Conquistadors with a strong four inning performance as he did not surrender a run during his time on the mound giving up only three hits with no walks and struck out seven. In two appearances this season Hallum has tossed seven innings giving up just one run on four hits and one walk, while striking out 10.

KJCCC West Co-Pitcher of the Week: Xander Roberts – Pratt Community College
Xander Roberts was effective and efficient while helping the Beavers win the series on the road vs Fort Scott. He would allow only 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 10 in his second start of the season. The highlight of the day would be striking out the side in order during the fourth inning.
